Main Line history buffs will have a unique chance to learn more about architect Horace Trumbauer by walking through one of his great Main Line mansions and by listening to some inside stories about his works from the author of a new book about him.

A graduate of the Baldwin School, Ada Mutch later taught physical education at the school before entering nursing school at the Presbyterian Hospital in New York City in 1933. She served with the Army Nurse Corps from 1942 to 1945 and recalled in a Main Line Times history page crossing a stream with other nurses using a rope as a bridge as part of their training exercises during World War II. Another time during training maneuvers in the war zones in South Pacific and Europe, nurses practiced crossing streams in rafts that had been constructed from stretchers.
