I just saw the Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime on Broadway, and as anyone will tell you, it’s a once in a lifetime experience— a show I can’t stop thinking about days later. It’s superb on every level: design, performances, and of course, the hypnotically beautiful music by Adrian Sutton. Really glad it’s available to purchase. Some of the most moving scenes in the play are set to this score and those moments are etched permanently in my brain. See this play. Then buy this score. This is a special piece of work meant to be shared.
After the roof collapse and venue and cast change earlier this year there were whispers amongst the theatre elite that The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time was not the same. The lead actor was too old, they said. It wasn’t as tight as before, they said. However, I am happy to report that all fears can be abated. The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time is still as moving, innovative and beautifully crafted as ever.
